Aspen Peak Cellars – Feb-20 2026

The mountains leaned in to listen.

Winter had been thirsty and brown,

so the late snow flurry felt like a blessing, with

white petals spinning and melting on jackets as hikers streamed inside,

boots damp, faces glowing from the trail.

Marcel painted the air with garlic and clams,

fresh fish bright as silver,

crusty bread torn open and steaming,

charcuterie boards rich with color,

and his Swiss fondue—golden and bubbling—

pulling everyone closer.

Wine swirled ruby and amber in the light.

Friends and family near—

my wife, my daughter Jenni,

Dave and Amanda laughing by the stage—

an afternoon fiesta of harmony and clinking glasses.

The set list bloomed easy and warm,

each song landing just right.

Kind words after the last chord.

An easy drive up the winding road,

an easy glide back home at dusk,

snow tracing the windshield—

a perfect day,

decanted slowly into memory.

Aspen Peak Cellars Dec-13-2025

December 13th arrived with the kind of winter afternoon that feels made for music. Aspen Peak Cellars was warm and alive, wine glasses catching the light as conversations drifted easily through the room. Thirteen of my guests showed up to support randymaezlive, and their presence alone set the tone—familiar faces, genuine smiles, and a shared sense of good cheer.

The venue hummed steadily all afternoon. Holiday spirit lingered in the air, not loud or forced, just naturally present. I watched people lean into their conversations, sip their wine, and relax into the moment, exactly the kind of crowd every performer hopes for.

Marcel, the owner and boss, greeted me the way he always does—with a hug and a handshake that made the room feel instantly welcoming. The crew was fantastic from start to finish, attentive and kind, reminding me why it’s always a pleasure to perform at Aspen Peak Cellars in Bailey, Colorado.

As the set rolled on, the energy only grew. One guest pulled me aside to tell me how much he loved my version of Last Dance with Mary Jane by Tom Petty. Then he added, with a grin, that Valerie by Amy Winehouse had become his new favorite song that I cover. Moments like that make every hour of practice worth it.

By the end of the afternoon, there were no complaints—only smiles, laughter, and a room full of great energy. It was one of those gigs that leaves you grateful: for the people, the music, and the simple joy of a space filled with good cheer.
